| HISTORY : |
The McTyeire School was organized in McKenzie, Tennessee as a
Methodist preparatory school in 1867. It was originally called
McKenzie College but changed names in 1882 to the McTyiere
Institute. The school continued to operate as a school until 1931
when financial problems led its closure. |
