| HISTORY : |
The Twelfth District of Tennessee was organized
following the ratification of the Chickasaw Treaty and the
acquisition of the Jackson Purchase in early January of 1819. The
district constituted what is presently the counties of Henry and
Carroll, and parts of Benton, Weakley and Decatur. |
