Scrapbook consists of magazine and newspaper
clippings of the First World War taken from national and local
publications. Beneath the clippings and numerous unused pages of
the scrapbook remains the original registry of the McKenzie Hotel
dating from 1909 to 1912. |
| HISTORY : |
The McKenzie Hotel was originally erected in 1859
but was destroyed by fire in 1870. A three story brick structure
replaced the old hotel in 1872. The hotel remained in business
until August 5, 1922 when it was destroyed by yet another fire. |
